For almost 20 years, Fernando Olivares— a third-generation jeweler — has crafted exquisite custom designs in White Gold, Yellow Gold, and Platinum. He learned his trade as an apprentice with Joseph C. Deluca on El Paseo in Palm Desert, where he met and worked with clients such as Barbara Sinatra, Goldie Hawn, Jerry Vale, and many others from that elegant era. He later collaborated with Elizabeth and Joseph Sass as a Designer and Bench Jeweler, honing both his creative vision and technical skill.
Born into a lineage of master craftsmen, his grandfather was a jeweler in Aguascalientes, Mexico, and his uncles continue the family tradition as jewelers in the state of Aguascalientes, Mexico. His grandfather worked until his 90s, a testament to a lifetime devoted to the craft. This heritage instilled in him a deep respect for meticulous handwork, timeless design, and the cultural artistry of Mexican jewelry-making. Those early memories—watching tools shape metal and stones come to life beneath warm workshop lights—inform every piece he creates today, blending generations of technique with contemporary elegance.
Fernando Olivares is now a father and hopes his son Fernando Adrian continues the family’s legacy of craftsmanship and devotion to timeless design. He envisions passing on the values that shaped his work—meticulous attention to detail, respect for materials, and a commitment to creating pieces that endure across generations. Above all, he hopes his son finds the same joy and purpose in shaping beauty with care, carrying forward both the skill and the spirit of Olivares Jewelry Design Studio.
